Searchspeare ribbon

The Searchspeare tab contains settings and reusable instructions for AI-assisted work. The current translation/review file ribbon labels this tab Searchspeare. Its controls differ from the Translate and Review actions in File.

Available controls

ControlMeaning
RulesOpens the reusable AI rule manager, where you create instructions and inspect applicability
ReasoningChooses the offered reasoning effort: off, medium, or high
Use Tags In TranslationControls whether applicable translation requests include the source's inline tags for translation handling
Model, when offeredSelects an available configured service/model choice
DeepL, when configuredRuns the separate translation integration on the applicable selected content

The Model control is conditional on the connections or local choices available in the workspace. Its absence is not a requirement to configure an extra service before using Searchspeare-hosted assistance. Use the account and editor controls actually available to you.

Create or edit AI rules

Rules are chosen by languages, labels, and Enabled

Choose Rules, create a clear instruction with an optional complete example, and check the languages, labels, and Enabled state. Rules apply automatically to eligible requests through those criteria; opening the manager from a project does not privately attach each rule to that project.

The dedicated AI rules section covers creation, project matching, extraction from context, and translation versus review behavior.

Set Reasoning and Tags mode

Reasoning controls the offered level of effort for applicable requests. It is a request setting, not a translation-quality score or approval. Review the output regardless of the choice.

Use Tags In Translation concerns how inline tags are supplied for translation. Tags → Show Tags concerns how markers are displayed in the editor. Hiding markers does not remove them from the document, and a display choice is not a substitute for checking the translated tags.

Run the action for the task

Use File or the segment toolbar for translation and target review. Use Chat to ask questions or request a specific edit with the available attachments. Use QA or Spellcheck for their respective checking workflows.

Non-AI mode and the Searchspeare Commands setting can hide AI controls. Service availability can also disable actions. These settings do not accept earlier proposals or confirm existing targets automatically.

In alignment, this tab instead provides the document-wide assisted realignment action. See Other workspace ribbons.
