Filters for bold and italic text

Open Filters in the translation table toolbar and find the Formatting section. Clear Search filters to see the complete menu, then scroll to this section. That search field only narrows the menu items; choosing a filter changes the document rows.

Each image below shows the individual filter enabled, with its blue icon. Click the condition again to exclude it, and once more to turn it off. See the three filter states and Filter Settings for how these conditions differ from source and target text searches. Other active conditions and searches still apply.

Choose the source or target menu option to choose which language side it checks. Both choices are explained together below because the test is the same. They remain separate conditions: enabling both requires both sides to pass.

Bold

Bold source enabled in the Filters menu.
Bold target enabled in the Filters menu.

Menu choices: Bold source · Bold target.

Shows rows with recognized bold formatting on the chosen side. Only part of the segment needs to be bold.

When to use it: Review emphasized wording. This condition does not apply, remove, or compare formatting between the languages.

Blue example: A sentence with one bold product name qualifies.

Red: No bold source / No bold target. Keeps rows without recognized bold formatting on that side. For example, enable Bold source and negate Bold target to investigate emphasis that may be missing from the translation. Inspect the tags and context before deciding whether to change it.

Italic

Italic source enabled in the Filters menu.
Italic target enabled in the Filters menu.

Menu choices: Italic source · Italic target.

Shows rows with recognized italic formatting on the chosen side. Only part of the segment needs to be italic.

When to use it: Review titles or other emphasized wording. This condition does not apply, remove, or compare formatting between the languages.

Blue example: A sentence with one italic publication title qualifies.

Red: No italic source / No italic target. Keeps rows without recognized italic formatting on that side. For example, enable Italic source and negate Italic target to investigate an italic title whose target has no detected italic formatting. The result identifies a row to inspect, rather than proving a formatting error.

Show all segments again

Use the table filter bar’s Clear all to remove its searches, conditions, matching options, automatic result restrictions, and sorting. This restores the rows in the open file or View. It does not open files outside that scope.
