Statistics Finances tab

Open Dashboard → Statistics → Finances. This tab combines measures from projects, invoices, and quotations. Read each definition separately: project value, invoiced revenue, and outstanding amounts use different records.

Summary cards

CardMeaning
Average project valueAverage full recorded price of qualifying projects worked on in the period, in the displayed currency
Invoiced RevenueSum of qualifying invoice final totals whose issue dates fall in the selected period, in the displayed currency
Client retentionPercentage of clients with qualifying work in the period who also had recorded project activity before the period

Invoiced Revenue uses issue dates and full totals

Invoiced Revenue includes issued, sent, paid, overdue, and partially paid invoice records. Draft and cancelled invoices do not contribute. A qualifying invoice contributes its final total, not only its unpaid balance or the amount paid during the range. The date filter uses the invoice's issue date, not its due date or payment date.

Client retention is the share of returning clients among clients with qualifying work in the period. It is not a percentage of last month's clients who returned, and it does not require multiple projects within the current period itself.

The summary normally follows a primary currency chosen from the period's recorded project values. Other charts can have their own currency selectors. Values in different currencies are not converted into one amount.

Revenue trend

The horizontal axis shows the selected time grouping. Each amount is the full recorded price of qualifying projects, assigned to the latest work date within the range, as in Overview Earnings.

Despite the financial heading, this timeline is not a history of payments received or a timeline of invoice totals. Use the Invoiced Revenue card for the qualifying invoice sum and Current receivables for amounts still outstanding.

Top clients

Each row gives a leading client's project count and recorded project value, using the period's primary currency. The list shows up to ten clients.

The count and value describe the client's projects. Open those projects to investigate a change; payment status is separate.

Current receivables

The bars show positive outstanding invoice amounts, separated by how overdue they are today:

GroupMeaning
Not dueThe due date is today or later
1–30 daysBetween 1 and 30 days overdue
31–60 daysBetween 31 and 60 days overdue
61–90 daysBetween 61 and 90 days overdue
Over 90 daysMore than 90 days overdue

Outstanding amount is the invoice's final total minus its recorded paid amount, with a minimum of zero. Issued, sent, overdue, and partially paid invoices can contribute.

This is a current view independent of the selected Statistics period. Choosing a past year does not turn it into a historical statement of what was unpaid at the end of that year. Hover over a bar for the amount and invoice count, and use the invoice records to inspect the individual documents.

Quotation performance

Quotations are selected by issue date and grouped by their current outcome: accepted, rejected, pending, or expired. Draft and sent quotations are included as pending.

Bars show the total quoted value in each outcome. The line shows the average recorded price per word for quotations with a valid nonnegative per-word price. It is an average of quotation rates, not a rate weighted by every quoted word.

The chart has different units for quoted value and price per word. Read the corresponding axes. An accepted quotation is not automatically an invoice or recorded payment.

Accepted vs rejected quotation value

This chart places accepted and rejected quoted values into the chosen time groups using the quotations' issue dates. It uses their current accepted/rejected status.

A quotation issued in May and accepted in June belongs to the May issue group when May is selected. The chart does not say the acceptance happened in May. Changing a quotation's current status can therefore change a report for an earlier issue period.

Project value per tracked hour

Choose Client or Language pair, where available, and the currency. Each bar divides the value attributed to confirmed translation work in the selected period by tracked hours from the same period. Unfinished projects can contribute.

The attributed value is calculated proportionally:

text
Attributed project value = project price × confirmed source words / project word count
Value per tracked hour = attributed value / tracked hours

For example, a project priced at €400 with 4,000 recorded words contributes €100 of attributed value when 1,000 source words qualify in the period. With two tracked hours, that is €50 per tracked hour. This is a calculated work-value measure, not evidence of a €50 payment or contractual hourly rate.

The comparison only displays groups with at least one tracked hour, and needs at least two comparable groups with some positive value. The chart can be absent when those conditions are not met. A missing price, word count, or tracked time also affects the calculation.
