Status, selection, and lock filters

Open Filters in the translation table toolbar and find the Status section. Clear Search filters to see the complete menu, then scroll to this section. That search field only narrows the menu items; choosing a filter changes the document rows.

Each image below shows the individual filter enabled, with its blue icon. Click the condition again to exclude it, and once more to turn it off. See the three filter states and Filter Settings for how these conditions differ from source and target text searches. Other active conditions and searches still apply.

Status choices can be alternatives

Enabling New and Edited includes either of those statuses. An excluded status is removed. Selected and Locked describe row selection and protection, not translation status. Most other menu conditions further narrow the rows.

Confirmed

Confirmed enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status is Confirmed.

When to use it: Review approved translations or check a completed portion of the file. Confirmation and locking are separate conditions.

Example: Enable Confirmed to read approved targets. Click again for Not confirmed when you want the other statuses.

Red: Not confirmed. Excludes rows currently marked Confirmed. Use it to collect the remaining workflow statuses for review; it does not establish that all remaining targets are empty or editable.

New

New enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status is New. This is a status check, rather than a test for an empty target.

When to use it: Find segments that have not yet moved to another workflow status. Use Empty when your question is specifically whether a target contains text.

Example: A segment marked New appears here. A blank target with a different status is found with Empty instead.

Red: Not new. Excludes New rows. For example, use it to read work that has moved to another status; an empty target with another status can still remain.

Edited

Edited enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status is Edited. It does not retrieve every segment that was edited at some point in its history.

When to use it: Review wording currently marked as edited before deciding whether to confirm it.

Example: After a correction leaves a row marked Edited, use this filter to collect it with other edited rows for review.

Red: Not edited. Excludes the current Edited status. For example, use it to leave pending manually edited rows out of a pass through other statuses. A previously edited row that is now Confirmed can still remain.

Replaced

Replaced enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status records replaced text.

When to use it: Review the consequences of a find-and-replace operation. Check the surrounding wording before confirming the results.

Example: After replacing an old product name, enable Replaced to review rows that still carry that status.

Red: Not replaced. Excludes rows currently marked Replaced. Use it to leave that replacement batch out of another status review; it does not search a history of replacements.

Pasted

Pasted enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status is Pasted.

When to use it: Review text populated through clipboard pasting. The filter follows the status currently stored on the row.

Example: Paste a supplied translation, then use Pasted to find rows that have not since moved to another status.

Red: Not pasted. Excludes the current Pasted status. For example, use it to focus on other work while a pasted batch waits for separate review. Pasted text subsequently confirmed is no longer in that excluded status.

Searchspeare translated

Searchspeare translated enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status is Searchspeare translated.

When to use it: Make a review pass over translations still marked as generated with Searchspeare. This is not a history of every use of assistance.

Example: Enable Searchspeare translated to inspect generated drafts before confirming them.

Red: Not Searchspeare translated. Excludes rows still carrying that status. Use it to leave those generated drafts out of another pass. A generated translation that has since been confirmed can remain.

Searchspeare edited

Searchspeare edited enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status is Searchspeare edited.

When to use it: Review revisions still carrying the assisted-edit status. Read the complete target and its source before approval.

Example: After an assisted correction, use this filter to gather rows still marked Searchspeare edited.

Red: Not Searchspeare edited. Excludes that current status. For example, leave the assisted-edit batch for a separate review while reading other rows. It does not exclude all text that has ever received assistance.

Pre-translated

Pre-translated enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows segments whose current status is Pre-translated.

When to use it: Review targets populated by pretranslation before treating them as approved. A populated target can still need adaptation.

Example: Run a memory pretranslation, then enable Pre-translated to review rows that retain that status.

Red: Not pre-translated. Excludes rows still marked Pre-translated. Use it to work through other statuses first; a pretranslated row that is now Confirmed can remain.

Selected

Selected enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows the segment rows currently selected in the editor. It does not make a selection for you.

When to use it: Temporarily inspect a group you have selected. Other active filters still restrict what you see.

Example: Select three rows and enable Selected to inspect them together. The negated state shows rows outside that selection.

Red: Not selected. Keeps rows outside the current row selection. For example, select three already reviewed rows and use the red state to inspect the remainder. Changing the selection changes this result too.

Locked

Locked enabled in the Filters menu.

Shows locked segments. Locking protects wording from supported editing operations; it does not itself establish translation approval.

When to use it: Inspect protected content or check which rows are unavailable for editing.

Example: Enable Locked to find protected rows. Click again for Not locked when you want to work on editable rows.

Red: Not locked. Keeps unlocked rows. Use it to inspect candidates for editing; a row's status and other command requirements still apply. This condition does not unlock any row.

Show all segments again

Use the table filter bar’s Clear all to remove its searches, conditions, matching options, automatic result restrictions, and sorting. This restores the rows in the open file or View. It does not open files outside that scope.
